Texas Abortion Ban Has Saved 2,700 Babies From Abortion So Far:

For 27 days, Texas has been saving unborn babies from abortion through its new heartbeat law.

The pro-life law — the first of its kind allowed to be enforced in the U.S. – has saved about 100 babies’ lives every single day. That amounts to approximately 2,700 unborn babies, as well as their mothers and fathers, who have been spared from the pain and death of abortion this month, according to Texas Right to Life.

The Texas heartbeat law went into effect Sept. 1, prohibiting abortions once an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable, about six weeks of pregnancy. The U.S. Supreme Court refused Planned Parenthood’s and other pro-abortion groups’ request to temporarily block enforcement of the law. However, the court battle is not over.

Unique from other state heartbeat laws, the Texas law includes a private enforcement mechanism that allows people to file lawsuits against abortionists who violate the law and those who help them.

It is these lawsuits and the risk of financial loss that are deterring the abortion industry from breaking the law, Rebecca Parma, senior legislative associate at Texas Right to Life, explained at The Federalist this week.

Parma wrote:

So far in Texas, we are seeing the abortion industry comply with the new law. Eighty-five percent of abortions that previously would have been occurring in our state are now illegal. More than 100 babies per day are being given a chance at life. There have not been any credible assertions of violation. This means that the unique threat of private lawsuits under this law is successfully saving babies.

Civil penalties are the most effective in pro-life laws because the abortion industry is profit-driven. The industry profits off killing preborn children and does not want to lose money. So it complies with pro-life laws (even as it fights them in the courts). That is why the Texas Heartbeat Act uses civil remedies — because it incentivizes compliance from the abortion industry.

In 2020, about 54,000 unborn babies were aborted in Texas, and about 85 percent happened after six weeks of pregnancy, according to state health statistics. With the heartbeat law in effect, tens of thousands of babies could be spared from abortion every year in Texas.

While abortion activists say some women are traveling to other states for abortions, they admit that others are having their babies instead. Studies and other evidence confirm that most women do not get abortions when they are banned; instead, they have their babies. This contradicts the back-alley abortion claim that women will resort to dangerous methods if they cannot get legal abortions.

What’s more, a well-known pro-abortion study called the Turnaway Study found that 96 percent of mothers who were denied abortions later no longer wished that they had had one. In other words, abortion-minded women who remained pregnant later were glad that they had their babies.

Still, pro-life advocates know that mothers and babies need support, and they are reaching out to pregnant women across Texas with compassion and understanding, offering financial and material resources and emotional support to help them and their babies. The state has more than 200 pregnancy resource centers that provide free services to pregnant and parenting mothers in need. That total does not include maternity homes and other resources for struggling families.

Earlier this year, state lawmakers increased support for programs that serve pregnant and parenting mothers and babiesensuring that families have resources to choose life for their babies.

Whether the heartbeat law will remain in effect or ultimately be upheld as constitutional remains uncertain. A federal court hearing involving one of the lawsuits is scheduled for Oct. 1.

Senate Passes Amendment to Ban Taxpayer-Funding of Abortions!

In a huge victory for pro-life Americans, the Senate voted for a budget amendment to its multi-trillion spending bill that bans taxpayer-funding of abortions for any federal funds authorized under the bill. Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma introduced a resolution amendment that protects against taxpayer funding of abortion. His amendment to prohibit the use of taxpayer dollars for funding of abortions and abortion-related discrimination was successfully adopted by a vote of 50-49 to the Democrats’ partisan budget resolution.

The amendment, if ultimately adopted by Congress in the final budget resolution, would ensure that the budget will comply with the long-standing Hyde amendment, which bars the use of federal tax dollars to pay for abortion, and the Weldon amendment, which protects health care providers who refuse to participate in abortion from discrimination. From Jeanne Mancini, President Of March for Life Education and Defense Fund:
The Dobbs Late Term Abortion case constitutes an incredible moment for all pro-life Americans. As one of the oldest pro-life organizations in our nation, the March for Life Education and Defense Fund is committed to giving Americans the opportunity to learn more about this important case and the humanity of the unborn child at 15 weeks. It’s time for our laws to reflect the realities of modern science, understanding that the humanity of a 15-week old child in the womb is undeniable. Modern science has shown us that at 15 weeks, a child is capable of feeling pain, has a fully formed nose, lips, and eyebrows, and can even suck their thumb.

A limit on abortion after 15 weeks would bring the United States in line with most European countries. In fact, the United States is only ONE of SEVEN countries that still allow elective abortion after 20 weeks.

A.B. 835 "An Act Concerning Deceptive Advertising Practices of Limited Services Pregnancy Centers" was signed into law!

S.B. 835 is based on completely inaccurate and misleading information about pregnancy resource centers in our state and is part of a national campaign to discredit the work that these centers perform. This legislation is not actually driven by concerns over false and misleading advertising, but by an ideological conflict between pregnancy resource centers, that do not provide abortion services, and centers that do provide or refer for abortions. The word "abortion" is the linchpin in determining who is covered by this proposed legislation and who is not.

The clients pregnancy resource centers in Connecticut encounter are mostly by referrals from other clients, family members, and other social service agencies. A small portion of the clients come from advertising. The high number of referrals shows that people in the community support and trust the pregnancy resource centers. If these centers practiced any of the dubious activities that proponents of S.B. 835 claim the referral numbers would be drastically lower.

This proposed legislation exists primarily due to an ideological conflict between the pregnancy resource centers and the organizations who support this legislation, such as NARAL and Planned Parenthood. Proof of this statement can be found in Section 1(7) where "limited services pregnancy center" is defined as centers that do not provide referrals for abortions or emergency contraception. Simply stated, if any pregnancy resource center in Connecticut added abortion referrals to its list of services it to would no longer be covered by this proposed legislation. If this proposed bill is adopted, the state would be incorporating "viewpoint discrimination" into state law, opening the legislation up to a federal court challenge.

Over the past several years, legal actions across the nation have almost entirely ruled these type of laws unconstitutional. In several of these court cases, lack of substantiated evidence of deceptive advertising was one of the major reasons the courts ruled against the laws. In other words, just like in Connecticut, there has been a complete lack of evidence that the centers are intentionally misleading women.

2021 Virtual And Live March for Life Video:
About The 2021 March for Life:

The 48th Annual March for Life took place Friday, but the event looked a lot different. Not only was the event mostly virtual, but the anti-abortion marchers say their message is even more critical now that President Joe Biden is in office.

“We may not be together this year in person folks, but we can still send a very powerful message to the White House,” said March for Life President Jeanne Mancini.

Mancini says the theme of this year’s virtual march is “Together Strong: Life Unites!” “With all of the division and unrest, with the fear in our country, we felt strongly that this year’s theme should call for a time of coming together,” Mancini said. After the virtual rally, a group of anti-abortion leaders made the physical march from the National Mall to the Supreme Court.
